My last blog post was in April of 2019 so I’m obviously in need of a major update, especially with everything that has been going on with the digital marketing and also the video production side of my business. I want to do an update on all things BFresh.Media so here goes.
Digital Service Squad
Spring of 2019 is when I landed a contract to provide a more broad digital marketing service and hands on support to businesses across Simcoe, South Georgian Bay. You’ve probably heard me talk about this program a lot. I’ve talked about it in great length over the past 2 years, both on my own channels as well as others. I’ve done a tonne of press on radio, podcasts, and you may have also seen my Facebook Live still going on every tuesday morning.
The program and this opportunity has been really amazing. To me, the best part has been playing an active roll in our communitie’s covid recovery by providing free digital marketing support and education. We’ve helped hundreds of businesses to date. We’ve helped with 1-on-1 consultations, getting grant funding, and to learn new skills that they have been able to use to pivot their business to function in this new world we live in.
Our contract was renewed several times in light of the pandemic and we are currently signed on until February of 2022. Needless to say it has been a major boost for my business as we have grown to a team of 5 people on the Digital Service Squad side and I do have big pans for what’s to come post Digital Main Street in 2022.

Video Production Update
Thankfully this side of my business has not gone away. It has certainly not been as busy as usual but that’s expected, given our main focus has shifted slightly. However, we have been working a lot with OBIAA (The Ontario BIA Association). They are the organization who manages the Digital Main Street Program.
In the past 2 years we have produced… I honestly lost count but I want to say somewhere around 25 videos for them so far. Plus there are more on the way. We have produced program updates, how-to-apply videos, and a tonne of grant recipient testimonials. I have been traveling as far as North Bay and working with production partners in Kenora and Ottawa. We’ve been all over the province talking to amazing business owners about their experience with Digital Main Street. It has made being a Squad Member that much better to know that it’s helped so many, in such a profound way.
Here are just a few of those videos that we’ve created for the Digital Main Street Program.
Video Is Still The Focus
Video is and will always be my main focus. It’s just what I love to do. I love the gear, the people I work with, and creating something that people like to watch. Speaking of Gear I’ve made a few upgrades over the past 2 years which may mean something or nothing to those of you reading.
We are shooting on a Z Cam E2M4 as our main A camera now. Yes, I realize how weird that sounds that my A cam is a Z Cam but that’s just what it’s called. Basically it’s a powerful cinema camera that can shoot very high quality and high frame rates. I could go into great detail on the specs but I won’t bore you with the details. I realize this is not that kind of blog so all you need to know is that it’s awesome. 🙂
The other big news on the equipment side of things is my new drone. Yes I now have a drone! We are flying the DJI Mini 2. This is a very small but powerful little piece of equipment that can shoot pretty great 4k footage. I am loving this drone and the shots that we can now get. Stay tuned for more on that little guy in the coming months as well.
Besides the gear we’ve also upgraded from a one man show. I’m now working with a production manager and an editor. This allows us to maintain capaicity while I focus on other important things. Those being client management, marketing and day to day operations.
So that’s what we’ve been up to. That’s my Video Production and all things BFresh.Media update. You’re now all up to speed. Thanks for checking in and be sure to stay tuned for more frequent bogs coming soon.
