Turning Regular Videos into a Robust Content Strategy

(How committing to regular monthly or quarterly videos can provide a great deal of content for all your marketing channels)

Content marketing is one of the most effective means of reaching potential and regular customers. One of the most important content marketing strategies to consider is videos. Only about 13% of online marketers don’t include video in their approach.

Using video content to drive traffic and boost sales is a well-known tactic. Video content should be dedicated to selling a product and include interesting topics that viewers can easily relate to.

With several social media options like Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, marketers can use videos to communicate better with clients, show what their business is up to and increase their visibility in search engines.

Videos should be used creatively. It is an expectation that video content should be exciting and captivating. However, one rule that would make video content even more effective is how consistent it is.

In content marketing, delivering valuable content every time to your audience is an expectation they hold. Once your customers fall in love with your content, remaining consistent is necessary to keep your audience intrigued. The best way to do this is to create a schedule for your videos. Posting videos inconsistently does your brand no favors; people forget about your content, there would be no build-up to any successes recorded from previous efforts, or they just wouldn’t take you as seriously if you were consistent.

Scheduling your video content

Creating a schedule for your video involves ensuring you have a regular posting timetable. While some would say the more, the better; you should be careful not to make it too frequent. An ideal option would be twice a month for long videos and tutorials, once a week for short videos, and every other day for skits and concise videos.

Once you have settled for a schedule that is workable for you, try to keep it consistent. Once your videos are frequent and fresh, they will create good optimization for your site in search engines (SEO). That’s because viewers and customers are likely to come back looking for more great content.

While the goal of your videos is to market your business, your videos should not only be about your business. Creating valuable content that intrigues your customer to return is the ultimate goal, which in return will hopefully mean more sales as well.

What remains to be the focus however is your consistency with your content. Create a schedule that is doable for you and your schedule; don’t be overwhelmed thinking you need to create video content every day, burn yourself out and then stop sharing content. The rule of thumb for any digital marketing is consistency.

Tell stories with your videos

Storytelling is supposed to be captivating, so when you tell stories with your videos, the goal is to keep your viewers coming back for more of your content. People love to be captivated by stories. Market your products with interesting stories.

Frequency boosts SEO

In search engines optimization, being consistent is an added advantage. When viewers watch your videos and share them frequently, this can help boosts your site’s ranking and can direct more traffic to your website when users search for related content. As we’ve mentioned in previous blogs, users that share links to your videos can result in your website ranking higher on search engines.

Once you find a strategy that works for you, the biggest takeaway from this is to always remain consistent. We live in a world of fast pace and in order to hook a potential customer in, your video content needs to be exciting, compelling, and draw people in. If you feel like the schedule you create for yourself is too much, take a step back and reevaluate, or better yet, outsource it to us!
