5 Tips for Branding Your Videos

Within the last few years, videos have gone from playing a side part in a business’ digital marketing strategy to having a starring role. In fact, one survey found that 93% of marketers considered video to be an important part of their strategy in 2021, up significantly from the 78% in 2015.

Since so many businesses are now invested in the video marketing game, it’s more important than ever to make your brand stand out amongst the competition. And one of the best ways to do that is by properly branding your videos. No one can do your brand like you can, and you need to be able to show this to your audience.

Not sure where to start? Here are our top 5 tips for branding your videos.

Tip #1: Know Your Audience

Before doing anything else, you’ve got to put in the research. You need to know who you’re trying to reach, what they like and dislike, and what types of videos are trending in your industry.

If you don’t specifically tailor your branded videos to your audience, then you may be wasting your time. You’re not going to get your message across if your audience isn’t interested in your content.

Tip #2: Identify Your Objective

What do you want to accomplish with your videos? If it’s simply about spreading brand awareness, then perhaps you could create an entertaining, share-worthy video that talks about your business and industry.

On the other hand, if you’re looking to drive traffic to your website, you could focus on showing off on-site content that may be useful or interesting to your audience. Use the information gained during your research to help determine which kind of video would be most effective for your audience.

Tip #3: Create a Video in Your Brand Voice

You should already have a brand voice, or a distinct personality for your brand. Therefore, whatever kind of video you decide to create, it should unquestionably look, feel, and sound like YOU.

Anything that feels off-brand to your audience may confuse them, which can hurt your overall brand awareness. Unless you are using video to announce your rebranding, make sure your videos fit in perfectly with the rest of your content.

Tip #4: Visually Represent Your Brand

Your brand’s colours and logo should be all over your video content. For example, if you’re filming a scene indoors, then the carpet, walls, even their clothing can be done in your brand’s colours. Perhaps one of the actors has a water bottle that features a sticker of your brand’s logo. Get creative with your visual representations, as they can really help reinforce the idea of your brand.

Tip #5: Hire a Professional

Unless you have the right tools for producing, shooting, and editing your videos, then it’s a good idea to enlist a professional. A poorly-made video isn’t typically going to get as much attention as one with some production value.

A company that specializes in video marketing is the perfect choice for your branded videos. They’ll know exactly what you need to make your brand really come through on film – having some experience in the industry certainly helps!
